Specifying a multiwall paper sack looks simple until a bag splits on the pallet or a filling line starts to leak dust. For cement, tile adhesive and similar dense powders, bag performance comes down to three engineering choices: ply count, paper grammage and valve design. Getting them right protects your product, your reputation and your customer relationships.
Each ply of virgin kraft paper adds tensile strength and puncture resistance. A two-ply sack is economical for light, low-drop-height filling, while three to four plies are the industry standard for 25 kg and 50 kg loads that must survive stacking, pallet handling and rough transit. The outer ply carries the print and the weather resistance; the inner plies provide the burst strength that keeps the bag intact at line speed.
| Product | Typical Fill Weight | Recommended Plies | Grammage per Ply |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cement | 25 kg / 50 kg | 3 - 4 | 70 - 80 gsm |
| Tile Adhesive | 20 kg / 25 kg | 3 | 70 - 80 gsm |
| Dry Mortar / Gypsum | 20 kg / 25 kg | 2 - 3 | 70 gsm |
| Flour / Starch | 25 kg / 50 kg | 3 - 4 | 70 - 80 gsm |
| Animal Feed | 25 kg / 40 kg | 3 | 70 - 80 gsm |
Reliable suppliers test seam strength, drop performance, burst strength and moisture resistance before shipment. Food-contact products should be produced under ISO 22000 food safety management, and all production should run under ISO 9001 quality management. These systems show that the bag you approve will be the bag you receive on repeat orders, instead of a cheaper look-alike.
